About Twin Roots
I was born and raised in Northwestern Ontario in the small community of Ignace. After completing a business degree at Lakehead University I moved to Southern Ontario where I created some great memories working with the Oshawa Generals and helping my husband launch his photography business. After living the city life for 15 years I was happy to move back to my hometown and enjoy what I missed the most, nature. Fishing trips are way more exciting than shopping malls and theme parks for this girl. I have to admit there were benefits to living in the city, but fresh affordable produce and fast internet are two things I really miss. While the internet situation was out of my control, I knew I could help my community by sharing more healthy food choices.
Currently I am the manager for the employment center in Ignace and if you knew me you would know I always have other things on the go such as coaching figure skating, taking photos and managing the Recreation Committee. I have a great appreciation for the outdoors and always dreamed about opening a Living Market.
After our Twins were born I became more passionate about growing our own food and in 2019 started Twin Roots. What started as a small microgreen farm in my basement is now expanding into our new building so we can grow even more and offer healthy meals and refreshments featuring our locally grown goods.
